For the Love of Lace
While Spain, Italy, France, England, and other countries would like to claim the invention of lace, no one knows for certain the exact origins of this exquisite material. It's almost hard to imagine that lace started as some form needle point hand embroidery -a humble pass time or hobby for women. Later on, lace making became an art form and a profession, evolving into all the different varieties that most of us have come to love.
Originally, all lace were hand made; but since the industrial revolution, machine lace making became the norm. If you love lace as most of us do, you will notice that there are a variety of laces to choose from these days. All of them have their own unique characteristics. Some of our favorites are: guipure, cotton lace; chantilly; a fines delicate lace; alencon; cording outlining the motifs.

When it came to picking a lace to use for our collections, we considered many options. It was after much thought, that we decided on an alencon lace that is soft, delicate, and that speaks pure romance.
